Well, it was a busy week for me!
I had lots of little people company last week -- oh how that makes me happy! Sara and Meaghan (P.J.'s girls) were here Wednesday. And I had numerous visits from Ben and Alex, and even Kelly and Charlie visited.
Aunt Helen, Ben and Alex and I went shopping one day. Ben and I bought a Connect Four game. . . He beat everybody under the maple tree on Sunday. Cousins gather under Aunt Helen's maple tree every Sunday to catch up on the week's happenings.
We went to Redneck Ryan (Ledridge) and Kacie's wedding Saturday afternoon. It was so pretty. The pianist and violinist were wonderful. The guys were handsome in their tuxes and the girls all wore black, except the bride and her dress was gorgeous! Then we partied till, gosh, it was probably 9 o'clock!
Alex and I had a yard sale Saturday; didn't make much but I got to visit with a lot of people. . . And I got fresh eggs! I told one lady that came last year she could come again if she brought me fresh eggs. One lady paid me for a cedar chest, said she was going to town and would be back for it. I still have it. I could have sold it three times over, but holding it for her.
Sunday I went to church and stopped at a friend's house and got tomato plants. Now, I guess, our garden is complete. I didn't help put out a thing. . . but Mike doesn't help bring it in so I guess that's fair!
But basically, what I have done this week is play. . . a lot of Connect Four, some Ants in Sponge Bob's Pants, Captain Bones Gold. Ben is really into games. . . It was cloudy all day Wednesday when the girls were here. Meghan was satisfied watching cartoons, but Sara wanted to be entertained. So I did. . . After making them Mickey Mouse pancakes with chocolate chips. Sara told me "Mar Ruth, if you don't let me go outside I ain't never coming back." Well, before Mama got them we were outside. So I guess she will be coming back. . . They are the prettiest blue-eyed, blonde haired little girls! And of course, Ben and Charlie and Alex are blond.
On Saturday, my friend Tracy came out with her nephew, Jaxon (also blond). She said he woke up saying "Today we get to go to Meddy Root's". (I have a bunch of names!)He came one day last summer and got so nasty we had to give him a bath before he could go home. But he got mad because I gave him a pink wash cloth! The next time he came back, he asked for a bath without a pink wash rag!
I love all these little people.
But they don't make up for me not seeing my grandsons. Please continue to pray for them! Hopefully we will see them soon. "Cornbread" will be here this weekend. I'm so excited!!! He misses his Granny -- he says so every time I talk to his mama, but she doesn't understand granny/grandson language like his Granny does! Gotta go get some crip sheets, and mattress! Will put him in Uncle John's baby bed (well over 60 years old).
Guess that's all my exciting week. . .luv, mom/mrt
