It's Been A While

OK, so almost a month. I've been busy! Had the barn party, it was great; went to South Carolina and visited my three grandsons, and Todd and Michelle, and Cassie and Jerry, that was great; came home to a messy house as spouse was putting in my new counter tops -- finally! Bro. John went fishing on me and didn't get around to it. But that's OK; I think he and Carla had a good time.

My grandsons are beautiful! Duh! ! ! The older boys are so good with their little brother -- unless he's crying while they're trying to watch TV.

Cousin Alex (14) went with me; he's the boys' hero! I think he had a good time too. Cassie took us to the aquarium in Charleston and the Atlantic Ocean. At the aquarium, Levi was giving a lecture on the sea animals in the "pettying zoo". The attendant told him "That's my job!" But apparently Levi knew things the "marine bioligist" didn't know! He loves the sea; says he's going to be a marine biologist. There are lots of opportunities in South Carolina for him to realize his dream.

I have a question: Do you tell someone that they are in deep doo-doo, or let them find out about it when they go to the courthouse? Like, this could involve jail time -- and lots of it. It's not someone I talk to every day, or year.

Back to South Carolina: Todd and Michelle and the older boys went to the zoo and aquarium in Atlanta this weekend. It's only a couple of hours from their home. Apparently the boys weren't on their best behavior, a product of their environment. It makes me sad to know that they are not being taught polite manners.

The spouse is now installing new countertop in the bathroom -- after 29 years. My kitchen looks almost new; a coat of paint will help. I will get around to that sometime. If not, somebody else will have to worry about it.
